Design Works is a former industrial building that has been converted to provide office accommodation. Adjoining Design Works is a detached pavilion style building known as Craftworks. The grounds are extensive with parking for 220 cars in a landscaped environment.

Design Works was originally a chocolate factory built in the 1930's and latterly used as a clothing warehouse. It was converted to its present use in the late 1980's. The main building is of a two storey frame constructed with profile cladding to roof and walls. There is a central light well to allow natural light into the building.

Internally the property has been subdivided into a number of cellular offices which are arranged around the central area. The standard of accommodation is very high with two newer blocks built in 2002 offering the first units with climate control air conditioning.

The Craftworks building was built in 1991, it is a steel framed building with block/profile walls and a pitched clad roof. Internally it is divided into a hexagonal shape in individual offices.

All space is let on the basis of licence agreements and fees are on a fully inclusive basis to include rent, service charge, rates and heating.

In addition to this there is a reception area, three meeting rooms, a computer suite and rest area with automated vending. Every room in the building has access to broadband internet and business advice is available through parent company Project North East.
